Aviation Milestones – Lindbergh & Concorde

Recapture aviation history comparing Lindbergh’s historic first solo flight across the Atlantic on May 27, 1927 to the supersonic Concord. Lindbergh’s flight in the single engine “Spirit of St Louis” flew non-stop from New York to Paris in 33 hours 30 minutes. The Concord has flown from Paris to New York (JFK) in less than 3 hours (2 hours, 2 minutes, 59 seconds).

For the 50th anniversary Lindbergh’s historic flight a series of First Day cover stamps were created covering Lindbergh’s flight plan with local stamp cancellation at each major land area he flew over.
