Wyland created Sea Walker, an undersea character for a new book and film project. The story begins with an epic storm that sinks the boat of a young family. The only survivor, a boy, is rescued by a group of dolphins, then taken by a manta ray to a deep volcanic vent where he is transformed into a creature that is half-human, half-dolphin. “Storm” is the opening scene from the story. “I enjoy this painting immensely,” Wyland says. “It’s a departure from my marine-life style, and it takes me back to my early marine artist days when I used to paint ships at sea.”
